The Hindenburg Disaster May 6 1937
I Chose the Hindenburg Disaster as the first historic broadcast in our New Segment on Historic Shortwave Radio Broadcasts. While this didn't initially broadcast on Shortwave Radio, it did get broadcast over Shortwave and that really helped the story spread throughout the world, in a time when we didn't have instant news like today.
As I mentioned in the segment, this historical broadcast was not broadcast live. It was taped for a future broadcast by WLS in Chicago.
